WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS  

  • Suggested weigh limit is approximately 225lbs for our classes.  However, this is just a suggestion and not a reflection of fitness level.  Therefore, if you have circus experience, are currently active, tall person, weight lifter etc, and are over the suggested weight, you are welcome.  ​

AGE RESTRICTIONS

  • Minimum age is 6 years old and must have finished Kindergarten

  • Must be able to use the restroom by themselves

  • No diapers or pull-ups

  • Separation anxiety needs to be minimal

ATTIRE RULES  

AERIAL SILKS, HAMMOCK, HOOP, TRAP 

  • Longer hair must be pulled up or back.

  • Tops must cover the entire torso and lower back. No crop tops. 

  • Youth- No Tank Tops

  • Armpits with hair must be covered by a sleeve. This is for both men and women.  We ask this so that the silks stay free from deodorant or excessive sweat.  

  • Bottoms must be Capri or Full-Length.  No flared or baggy legs.  No shorts of any kind. 

  • Bare feet preferred unless you are told otherwise.  

  • No perfumes, scented lotions, oils of any kind- pretty please!

  • No jewelry on neck, wrists, fingers.  Smaller earrings are okay.  Piercings we can not see are at your discretion. :)

  • No long, pointy, sharp edged FINGERNAILS.  We do not allow acrylic tips, glue on, artificial nails.  Nail must be short active length so that you can make a tight fist.

BUNGEE

  • Longer hair should be pulled up or back to avoid tangle in the bungee cord. 

  • Tops must cover the entire torso and lower back. No crop tops. 

  • No shorts.  The harness will make your shorts bunch up or ride up your booty. 

  • Bare feet.  Jazz dance shoes and wrestling shoes that have not been outdoors, may be okay.  

  • No perfumes, scented lotions, oils of any kind- pretty please!

  • No jewelry on neck.  It will bounce around too much.  Jewelry in other area should be fine.

SPECTATORS   

  • We have a waiting area. 

  • You are welcome to use our restrooms.  Because you will have to walk the perimeter of the circus floor, we ask  that, if possible, spectators wait until there is a break IN BETWEEN classes.  

  • Please don't leave us wrappers or crumbs from your snacks.  :) 

  • No smoking/vaping inside the circus school or on our outside stairs. 

  • Please do not talk to students while they are in class (even if they are your child).  Students need to pay attention to the instructor at all times.  If you need to speak to a student, we will ask that they step off the floor to do so.

PHOTOS/VIDEO 

We have had many students and parents voice their concerns/complaints about being in photos and videos without  their permission.  This is certainly a valid concern.   We have collectively decided to implement a no photo/video rule for group classes, unless you are absolutely sure no one else is in the frame (i.e. you are a spectator and happen to catch your child on the trapeze with no one else around, or if you are a student and are setting up your phone to video only yourself).    During a private lesson and shows, you may take as much footage as you like.   Teachers typically do not mind being in photos but please have the courtesy to ask them if its okay.  

 

Our goal is to keep a very welcoming, family friendly, safe circus school.  Thank you in advance for understanding. .   ​

  • Classes that we have available to the public are listed here. 

  • Upper level classes are not listed on our website.  If you have experience, please call us for placement.

CANCEL/REBOOKING POLICY

If your booking is prior to 10/01/26, please refer to your invoice/receipt/registration for the cancellation policy. 

Registrations for class/session/party, booked after 10/01/26, will be under this cancel/rebooking policy. 

Please note ~ Summer Camp, Specialty workshops have a different cancel policy which is/will be disclosed to you before you register.  

  • We do not offer refunds unless we, the circus school, cancels the class/session/party 

  • Your reservation secures your registration/event, dedicated school place, instructors, and staff. 

  • With a minimum of 72 hour notice, we are happy to offer a one-time opportunity to reschedule your class/session/private/party  

  • The rescheduled class/session/party must take place within 3-months of the original start date. 

  • Payments may only be applied toward the rescheduled class/session/party and cannot be transferred to other programs or services.  In the case where an identical class/session/party is not available with in the 3-months, we will grant a general 3-month in school credit to be used toward a different service.  We do not offer gift certificates in lieu of credit.  

  • Requests to cancel & rebook must be made in writing via email only to: pittsburghcircuscenter@gmail.com

  • Cancelations or requests to reschedule made less than 72 hour before the scheduled start time, as well as failure to attend without notice, will result in forfeiture of the reservation(s) and all payments made.  No credits   or rebooking opportunities will be provided. 

  • In the case of inclement weather: If the circus school remains open and operational, our standard cancellation and rebooking policy applies. Customer-initiated weather cancellations do not automatically qualify for credit/rebooking.
